The irrepressible star of Truly, Madly, is back in business. This time, Lucy Valentine will go to the ends of the earth to find true love for her clients...and maybe even herself.

Lucy wants to breathe new life into her family's Boston-based matchmaking company. But how? Even though she comes from a long line of ancestors blessed by Cupid with psychic abilities, a freak accident left Lucy with only one special skill: finding things. Car keys, socks in the dryer, needles in haystacks...and now, in a stroke of professional genius, lost loves!

It's not long before Lucy's on a winning streak, helping old flames reunite and create new sparks. Business is booming. But when Lucy finds herself involved in a possible case of murder, she realizes she's in too deep. Enter Sean Donahue. Lucy's handsome fire-fighter turned private-eye neighbor, Sean is just the man she needs to help her on the job. Could he also be the man she's been looking for all along? When it comes to Valentine, Inc., falling in love is always serious business...

I love the first book in this series, but I loved this one even more. Lucy is now more secure in her “powers” and she two cases to solve. One is an old man who is looking for the woman who was the love of his life before he went to war, and the second is a missing person’s case. The woman’s mother is convinced her daughters’ husband killed her daughter, and abused their children, keeping her daughter from having much contact with her since their marriage. And as the husband is a police officer, he has more than enough knowledge to get rid of the body without anyone ever finding it. But the mother needs closure, and when Lucy concentrate on the bracelet the missing woman never removed, she sees another girl wearing it. So, if Sarah Loehman is dead, how come this girl is wearing her bracelet?

The downside of the first case is the presence of Preston Bailey, the reporter who exposed Lucy and her gifts to the world a few weeks ago. Her father promised Preston she could be present during Lucy’s Lost Love cases, and write a human interest piece for the newspaper for it.
Leo’s dog tags were found in a mass grave and so his family was notified that he was deceased. But Leo survived being a prisoner of war, and came home. Only to learn that his beloved had married someone else two years ago, and moved away. He himself learned to love and married another woman, but Leo has been a widower for a few years now, and he wants to find his first love, whom he has never forgotten. But he doesn’t even know if she is still alive.
The visions Lucy sees from his old class ring, lead Lucy and Preston to an antique shop, and from there to a really nice lawyer.

Lucy was hoping that Sean would be with her every step of both investigations, as he is the private investigator she is in love with. (If she dares to believe in love despite the Cupid Curse on her family), but unfortunately, his ex-girlfriend is monopolizing his time. Claiming she is very ill, and that she needs someone to go to the hospital with her, and take care of her. And being the honourable man he is, Sean cannot refuse Claire. But he really wants to be with Lucy, and he tries be see her in between as much as he can. Will Lucy fight for her man? Or just give in to the curse?

And then Lucy’s father is behaving secretively again, does he have another woman in his sights already? Did he not learn anything from the beach debacle and scandal in the previous book? Lucy really cannot let it be, she needs to find out the truth…

And Marisol is urging Lucy to help investigate Em’s fiancée. She never liked him, and she really does not want Em to marry him in two weeks. They both think she would really suit Aidan instead, the police detective that gives her the missing persons cases to work on. Will they be able to open Em’s eyes? Or is it true love between them after all?

I really loved this book. It is very well written, and I just love the characters. The stories that Lucy investigates tug on your heart strings, and you hope she will be able to solve it all. Like in the first book, this one had a surprising twist in the ending, though I did suspect a little of it already. I am very happy with how this book ended, and am looking forward to the next one. I want to know if Preston and the other new character will be a part of the series.

9,5 stars.
